About ClearLine Guide

Straight, friendly answers to one of the most confusing recurring bills in an American household budget.

Why this site exists

Wireless bills seem designed to resist understanding. The discount hides behind a payment-method rule, the same fee wears three different names across four brands, and the cheapest option is almost never the one on the billboard. ClearLine Guide began as notes one family kept while untangling their own multi-line bill — which lines were paying full price, which discounts had quietly lapsed, and what the rescue options were in a bad month. The notes grew into a checklist, the checklist got shared around, and eventually it became this site.

What we do

  • Translate carrier programs into kitchen-table English — Auto Pay, BridgePay, Lifeline, late fees, grace periods — with the marketing stripped out.
  • Show the downsides on purpose — every comparison we publish lists the cons, because the payment method that's perfect for one household is a bad fit for the next.
  • Review on a schedule — fees and discounts drift constantly, so every guide carries a last-reviewed date and gets a full pass at least twice a year.

What we don't do

  • We don't sell plans, process payments, or handle account credentials. This is an editorial project and nothing more.
  • We have no affiliation with any carrier. Program names like Auto Pay, Quick Pay, and BridgePay belong to their owners; we mention them only to explain them.
  • We don't give individual financial advice. Our guides are general information — always confirm current terms with your carrier before acting on them.

How the lights stay on

The site may carry clearly labeled advertising. Advertisers never see content before it publishes and have no say in our comparisons or recommendations. Placement in a comparison table cannot be bought — not by a carrier, not by anyone.

Our editorial standards

Verified

Every fee and program term comes from carrier documentation or support confirmations, checked against at least two sources before it appears on the site.

Dated

Each guide shows when it was last reviewed. If a page is more than six months old, treat specific dollar amounts as approximate and confirm with your carrier.

Correctable

Spotted a mistake? Tell us. Confirmed corrections go live within five business days, with the change noted on the page itself.
